Invitation for Bid – New Portland Sand Salt Shed Project Foundation Work

The Town of New Portland is seeking sealed proposals for the foundation work on the Sand Salt Shed Project.  Completed proposals must be received at the Town Office at 901 River Rd, New Portland, Maine, by 5 p.m. on April 15th, 2019.  Any proposals received after the deadline stated above shall not be considered.  The proposal must by signed by the Proposer with its full name and address and enclosed in a sealed envelope, marked “Sand Salt Shed Foundation”.   Bids will be publicly opened on April 15th, 2019 at the selectmen’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the community room at the fire station.  All proposers wishing to submit a bid are welcome to attend a pre-bid meeting to be held on April 2, 2019 at the Community Room in the Fire Station located at 911 River Rd., New Portland.  The Board of Selectmen and the Engineer will be available for questions regarding the required work for this project, starting at 5:30 pm on April 2nd.

All Proposers must provide a bid and will be required to sign an agreement for services.

Before commencing work under said agreement, the Proposer shall provide evidence of liability insurance, listing the Town of New Portland as a certificate holder.

Any bidder may withdraw his/her proposal prior to the scheduled time for the opening of proposals upon presentation to the Town Manager of a request, in writing, to do so.  Any bidder who withdraws his/her proposal within thirty (30) days after the actual opening thereof shall be considered to have abandoned his/her proposal.

The Board of Selectmen reserves the right to waive any formality and may consider as informal any proposal not prepared and submitted in accordance with these provisions.  The Board of Selectmen reserves the right to accept any proposal or reject any or all proposals if it is deemed to be in the publics interest to do so.
