There will also be a scarecrow contest. The area for display will be the lawn in front(near the road) of the New Portland Fire Department. Entry forms are available at the Town Office. Each scarecrow must include the creator’s name and contact information. Scarecrows must be in good taste, please use good judgment so all ages can enjoy this display.
The New Portland Recreation Committee will also be hosting the Trunk or Treat. So bring the kids and adults for treats and fun. Come in costume to scare and make everyone laugh. Everyone is welcome to bring your vehicle decorated and have treats to hand out to the kids. There will be a greand prize for best decorated trunk.
The New Portland Recreation Committee will be hosting a Halloween gathering on Sunday, October 31st at 4 pm. at the Community room in the Fire Station. Children and adults are welcome to come in costume to play games and show their dance moves to music. The Recreation Committee will have judges present to judge the funniest, most beautiful and scariest costumes. For those children that do come in costume, the recreation committee and others present will try to guess who they think the children are under the costumes. Please come and enjoy a good time together. For the safety of all who might attend masks are recommended due to covid.
