SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT

 State of Maine

January 20, 2026

County of Somerset

 To Stacie Rundlett, Warden, a resident of New Portland, the County of Somerset, State of Maine.

Greetings:

In the name of the State of Maine, you are hereby required to notify the voters of the Town of New Portland, in said county, qualified by law to vote in town affairs, to meet in the Community Room of the Fire Station, on Tuesday, the 27th day of January, 2026 at seven o’clock (7:00 p.m.) in the evening, then and there to act on the following articles to wit:

Art. 01.  To choose a moderator to preside at said meeting.

Art. 02. Shall the Town of New Portland (1) appropriate a sum not to exceed $80,000 for the purchase of a new truck for New Portland using revenue funds received from FEMA/MEMA.

FINANCIAL STATEMENT

Total Town Indebtedness:

  1. Outstanding balance of bonds previously issued:                           $132,335.00
  2. Bonds authorized and unissued:                                                          $              00

The Registrar of voters hereby gives notice that she will be in session for the purpose of revising and correcting the list of voters in the Community Room, at the Fire Station at 6:45 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
