Town of New Portland Notice of Clean Up Bid at 54 RIVER RD. NEW PORTLAND, ME The Town of New Portland is requesting written proposals from qualified Bidders for clean up at 54 River Rd. This includes furnishing all labor, equipment and materials required to satisfactorily and safely conduct all work to remove the debris left on the property from the controlled structure fire. The town reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals in whole or in part and to waive any informality the Town may determine necessary. The Town also reserves to itself the exclusive right to accept any proposals when it is deemed by the Town to be in its best interest. The Town is governed by Title 1 M.R.S.A. § 408-A, the Freedom of Access Law, which treats Bid Specifications as public documents. In awarding any proposal, the Town may consider, but not be limited to, any of the following factors: Bidder qualifications, price, experience, solvency, financial standing with the Town, history of claims with the Town, history of work quality with the Town, warranties, references, insurance bonding, compliance record, safety
record, delivery date, work schedule, and past and present service of Bidder. Vendors/Contractors shall be current on all amounts due to the Town prior to the Town entering into any contract agreement. A Request for Bid and Bid Proposal Form may be obtained at the New Portland Town Office or requested by email to the Town Manager. Those taking out bid packages must supply the Town with their name/ company name and contact information, including a telephone number and an email address where addenda (if issued) will be sent. Questions should be addressed in writing by mail or email and addressed to Town Manager, 901 River Rd, New Portland, Maine, or nwprtlnd@tds. net up until two days prior to bid opening. Bidders may attend a pre-bid meeting with the Town Manager and Selectmen on Friday, October 5, 2018 @ 5 pm at the site prior to bid submission to review the scope of work. Proposals will not receive consideration unless submitted in accordance with the following instructions for Bidders. Please submit your proposal marked: 54 River Rd Cleanup Bid 2018 to the Town no later than 5:00 p.m. on October 15, 2018. Bids will be opened at the Selectmen’s Meeting that night at 6:30 p.m., in the Community Room at the Fire Station. This is a Public Meeting and all Bidders are invited. The Board of Selectmen’s will award the bid at this meeting and thereafter become part of the public record. Proposals not submitted in time will not be considered.
