Meeting at Enviro-Mats update

Andrea and Stacie met with the new manager of Enviro-Mats, Ron Clark, on Thursday October 30th to discuss noise issue.  Ron Clark has been at the mill for approximately 6 weeks.  They have been making changes to reduce noise levels by enclosing the building where the debarker and chipper are located.  They have put up sliding walls that have 2 inch insulation.  They have hung mill felt over a 24 foot opening, and are in the process of putting up more insulation and solid walls in the building.

They have ordered 2 double walled trailers for the chips to go into.  This should reduce the noise level when the chips enter into the trailers.

Enviro-Mats is trying to mitigate the noise.  The work is not complete yet, but Andrea and Stacie are hopeful their efforts will help.

Andrea and Stacie will follow-up with the progress of the work they are doing to reduce the noise levels.

Enviro-Mats is also sharing the 2 critiques that Jean Antonucci’s sound specialists submitted with RSE, which is the company that did the sound study last year.  It is hoped that RSE will review these critiques and provide feedback on them.

Andrea asks that Jean and any others hearing the noise to take note of any changes, improvements, or no changes at all and keep the town informed.

THE NEW PORTLANDERS ARE FINALLY UP TO DATE!!!! YAY!!

Hello everyone, I would like to let you know that I have neglected my duties with putting the New Portlanders on the website.  I seriously didn’t realize I was soo far behind.  Geesh July…WoW… But you will find that they are all there now.  Moving forward I am positive this will not happen again as I wrote it in big black letters on a sticky note with my New Portlander information to POST ON WEBSITE….I’ll admit it, I’m human..

HAPPY READING EVERYONE!!    :)
