Reminder of Town Meeting and Municipal Election

Just a reminder that Friday, March 3rd from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. is the municipal election at the Community Room. There is a public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan on Friday, March 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at the town office.  And the Annual Town Meeting is at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 4th.

The following is a list of candidates for the Municipal Election:

Board of Selectmen for a 3 year term - Wayne Rundlett
RSU #74 School Board Member for a 3 year term- Bobbi-Sue Harrington

You can start requesting absentee ballots now. The deadline
to request an absentee ballot, including a ballot voted in the
presence of the clerk, is Tuesday, February 28, 2017, unless the
voter completes a special circumstances application, stating one of
four allowable reasons for requesting an absentee ballot after this
deadline. The four reasons are:
• An unexpected absence from the municipality during the entire
time the polls are open on election day;
• A physical disability,
• An inability to travel to the polls because the voter is a resident
of a coastal island ward or precinct; or
• An incapacity or illness that has resulted in the voter being
unable to leave home or a treatment facility.

Rabies Clinics

I just wanted to make you aware of 2 Rabies clinics being held in the

area in the next week in case you had dog owners who need to get

their pet vaccinated. The dates are 1/26 at the Country Mutt located

at 396 Main St Kingfield and in Farmington at the Tractor Supply Store

located on the Wilton Rd on 1/28. Both clinics are from 10 – 12. Dr. Stephanie

Heikkinen – Maine Woods Mobil Vet will be doing the clinic.

Nomination Papers due on Tuesday, January 17th

Just an FYI Nomination Papers are due on January 17th. We have 1 seat for Board of Selectmen and 1 seat for the School Board. We have had only 1 person take out papers for Board of Selectmen. So, if anyone is interested in running for either positions come to the office and I will get you your nomination paper.
